The smells are great, but they happen before I can eat the food. I don’t like this.
But hey, all I did was throw a bunch of raw chicken into a thing with other things and then hours later, it’s food! It’s pretty amazing.
I absolutely love cooking home made soups and chilli in a crockpot. I always make enough to feed an army… or at least a half dozen hungry room mates and their guests.
And yes, the delicious food smells well ahead of when that food is ready for consumption, definite drawback. I just make sure to cook something else delicious whilst crockpotting.
I gotta find some good crockpot recipes. I wanna give one of those crockpot lasagnas a try soon!
Lasagna? What witchcraftery is that? I'd never heard of such a thing, but now I feel as though I must seek out more information!
When I make things like soups or stews, I pretty much pick a meat that I have on hand, or something like a canned ham (I know, don't judge it still comes out great) or chicken, and whatever vegetables I have on hand. Frozen mixed vegetables no one seems to want to eat? Sure! I'll give them a try! These onions don't seem like they are going to last much longer, better use them! These tomatoes may not last either!
It almost always turns out good, just season to taste kind of thing.
Now to seek out a crockpot lasagna recipe and give that a try.
